Paula Young


I am a committed and passionate vegan of over 24 years. After training as a chef in 1994 I started my catering career at the award winning vegetarian restaurant Terre a TerreI have since worked in well known vegetarian establishments in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and have travelled extensively through Asia where I draw on Asian influences to create my own unique fusion cooking style. I lived in New Zealand for 7 years before returning to the UK in 2007 to work as head chef at Lancrigg Country House Hotel in Grasmere, where I helped develop The Green Valley Organic Restaurant, which was the UK's first certified organic vegetarian restaurant. On returning to Brighton I worked at Food For Friends and Aloka but finally left to follow my passion for creating gourmet plant based cuisine and pursue my dream of running a 100% vegan catering company.

I have catered as a retreat chef for various yoga retreats in the South of England, including Brooklands Barn in Arundel, West Sussex and Tilton House in Firle, East Sussex. 

I am currently a chef at Monte Velho Eco Retreat in the West Algarve, Portugal.

I am also a certified Naturopathic Nutritionist trained with the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM)
